This role is primarily focused on providing technical knowledge and operational support for the Enbridge ultrasonic flow meter infrastructure and applications across supported entities.

The Advisor TIS LP Measurement Technical Services provides a fully qualified understanding of the various MTS infrastructure and applications, as well as the integration of those systems into various peripheral Enbridge systems.

Note: Internally this role is called Advisor TIS LP Measurement Technical Services.


What You Will Do:

• Acts as a domain expert on Enbridge leak detection ultrasonic flow meter infrastructure and applications and provide critical direction and guidance on issues effecting business and operational processes at Enbridge.
• Supports the continued operation of the department's flow meter infrastructure and applications across the supported Enbridge systems. May involve technical analysis for the expenditure of significant resources.
• Conduct technical troubleshooting of flow meter infrastructure and applications when operational issues occur.
• Works closely with site operations, CCO, SCADA, and other PCSLD groups as required
• Participates on the MTS groups 24/7 on call support rotation with this position providing professional analyst level support to other members of the MTS during their on-call rotation as required.
• Reviews changes to design standards and specifications ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and other dependent systems.
• Supports investigations and testing of new flow meter infrastructure and applications to evaluate suitability for Enbridge systems and generates proposals for incorporation into the Enbridge flow meter infrastructure and application standards.
• Works closely with the Supervisor, MTS, to support the implementation of the long-term vision and technology plans for the group and supports the communication of that vision.
• Assists with the development of capital projects to upgrade or sustain the existing flow meter infrastructure and applications.
• Completes flow meter infrastructure and applications projects requested by field operations or other internal stakeholders, where modifications to flow meter infrastructure and applications are required.
• Provides knowledge of relevant industry standards related to flow meter and electronic liquid measurement.
• Supports Enbridge participation on industry standards committees relating to flow meter infrastructure and applications.
• Maintains an understanding of the various Enbridge entity flow meter infrastructure systems and applications.

Who You Are:

Required:

• Technologist Diploma (Candidates with Engineering degrees are also welcome to apply)
• 5 or more years of experience
• Proficient with any Windows OS, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Available to be on a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Ability to assess a situation quickly and make appropriate decisions to resolve flow meter issues.
• Good and clear communication skills to relate with various groups in the company.
• Able to work in a group with highly technical minded individuals demonstrating effective teamwork.
• Knowledge of Ultrasonic Flow Measurement technologies.
• Must carry a valid driver's license and passport and be available for cross-border travel

Preferred:

• Exposure to liquid pipeline terminal operations, liquid measurement and any type of flow measurement technology is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to the field in both Canada and the United States.
• Participates on acceptance testing in field operational locations.
• Is on a 24/7 On Call operational support rotation
